McKinney FFA Advisors

Teah Barrientes is a 2020 graduate of Tarleton State University where she majored in Agricultural Services and Development. Miss Barrientes teaches Principles of Agriculture, Livestock Production, Vet Med, and Advanced Animal Science at McKinney High School. As a fifth year teacher she enjoys training LDE and CDE teams, advising market lamb projects and overseeing the chapter and district 4 ffa officer activities. Her passion for agriculture stems from being the daughter of an AG teacher and being involved in a very successful ffa chapter during her high school career. In her free time she enjoys saltwater fishing on the coast with her family and spending time with her son Rowen and fiancé Eli. 

Hello all, my name is Leslie Packard and I'm an Ag Science teacher at McKinney Boyd High School where I teach Floral Design. I serve as the Rabbit Advisor and one of the Horticulture Advisors. This is my 5th year as an Ag teacher here at McKinney ISD. Throughout those five years in the MISD FFA program I've enjoyed seeing it continue to grow and build relationships with families and students who continually put in the hard work and dedication that it takes to make this program successful. I've always been very passionate about agriculture, and I'm a firm believer that there is no other program that can build character, develop a true work ethic, and teach these kids life/communication skills that they will use throughout their entire life. I grew up showing pigs and cattle through FFA and served as a chapter officer while competing on many LDE and CDE teams all through high school. I met my husband Landry through FFA in high school, and together we have twin 4-year-old daughters named Whitley and Tinsley. We live in Roxton, Tx where my family farms and runs a commercial cattle operation.

Hobbies: Watching the Rangers blow late inning leads and missing the playoffs, hopelessly rooting on the Cowboys, and raising showstock with my family. 

Favorite Snacks: not much for snacks (I despise sweets, especially cupcakes), but if I had to choose... Sour Patch Kids, Extremely Cheesy Goldfish, Skittles of any kind
